Salient Thought
for the Day
We must fortify ourselves with practical wisdom.
Lines
to Memorize
The one whose mind is not agitated in calamities and who has no longing for pleasure, free from attachment, fear and anger, that one indeed is said to be a saint of steady wisdom. The one who is free from all attachment and neither rejoices on receiving good nor is vexed on receiving evil, his or her wisdom is well established.
~Bhagavad Gita
Lesson
It is not everything to find out the cause of our misery, we must find some means to eliminate it; and nothing does this so well as practical wisdom. There is no need of falling down if we fortify our house against attack. We fortify our houses against flies and insects; all the more should we fortify our spiritual house against jealousy, hatred, anger and petty thoughts. If our mind is not regulated, we shall not accomplish even the outer results we desire.
Prayer
May all the pulsations of my body, mind and heart be in rhythm and harmony,
That I may feel the Presence of the great Infinite within me and all about me.
Supreme Spirit of the universe, bestow on me the light of true understanding.
Help me to do each task of this day wisely and with ardor of devotion.
